Microneedling
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling works by creating thousands of microscopic channels in the skin using fine, precisely controlled needles. This controlled process signals the skin to repair and rebuild — producing fresh collagen and elastin that gradually improve texture, tone, and firmness from the inside out. It’s one of the most well-studied skin renewal treatments available, and it works across a wide range of concerns: fine lines, acne scars, enlarged pores, uneven skin tone, and general skin laxity.
At Reina Aesthetics, microneedling is always performed by our clinical team. We offer three levels of treatment depending on your goals — and your provider will help you choose the right one at your consultation.
What to Expect
Consultation & assessment
Your provider evaluates your skin, discusses your goals, and recommends the right level of treatment for you.
Numbing & preparation
A topical numbing cream is applied and left to take effect so your treatment is as comfortable as possible.
Treatment
Your provider performs the microneedling pass across the treatment area. If you’ve chosen a PRP or Exosome upgrade, it is applied at this stage to maximize absorption through the microchannels.
Recovery & results
Expect some redness and mild sensitivity for 24–48 hours. Skin begins to visibly improve over the following weeks as collagen production increases. Best results typically emerge after a series of sessions.
Microneedling
Our foundational microneedling treatment uses controlled micro-injuries to stimulate your skin’s own collagen and elastin production. Over a series of sessions, you’ll notice real, lasting improvements in skin texture, pore size, fine lines, and overall radiance — without requiring any downtime beyond a day or two of mild redness. It’s an excellent standalone treatment and a proven starting point for clients new to skin renewal.
Microneedling + PRP
PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma — a concentrated serum derived from a small sample of your own blood. During your treatment, a quick blood draw is taken, spun down to isolate the growth-factor-rich plasma, and then applied directly to your skin during the microneedling process. Because the microchannels allow the PRP to absorb deeply, it works in tandem with your skin’s natural repair response — accelerating healing, boosting collagen production, and enhancing the overall result. It’s entirely from your own body, which makes it one of the most natural regenerative upgrades available.
Microneedling + Exosomes
Exosomes are tiny cell-signaling molecules that carry instructions for renewal and regeneration — essentially telling your skin cells how to repair and rebuild more effectively. Applied during microneedling, they travel deep into the skin through the microchannels and amplify the skin’s response well beyond what microneedling alone achieves. Think of it as giving your skin a highly detailed blueprint for renewal, rather than just the signal to start. Exosome technology is one of the most exciting advances in regenerative skin care right now — and it’s available at Reina.
Good Candidates for Microneedling
Fine lines & wrinkles
Stimulates new collagen to soften the appearance of lines around the eyes, forehead, and mouth.
Acne scars
One of the most effective non-surgical options for improving the texture and depth of acne scarring.
Enlarged pores
Promotes skin tightening that visibly reduces the appearance of pores over a series of sessions.
Uneven skin tone
Encourages cell turnover that gradually evens out pigmentation and improves overall radiance.
Good to Know
Which level of microneedling should I choose?+
Your provider will recommend the right option at your consultation based on your skin concerns, goals, and budget. As a general guide: foundational microneedling is ideal for maintenance and general renewal; PRP suits clients wanting to harness their body’s own healing power; and Exosomes are best for those seeking the most advanced regenerative outcome in each session.
How many sessions will I need?+
Most clients see the best results with a series of 3–6 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Some concerns, such as deep acne scarring, may benefit from more. Your provider will design a treatment plan tailored to your goals.
Is it painful?+
A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment to keep you comfortable throughout. Most clients describe the sensation as mild pressure or light tingling rather than pain.
What does the recovery look like?+
Expect redness and mild sensitivity for 24–48 hours — similar to a mild sunburn. This settles quickly, and most clients feel comfortable returning to normal activities the day after treatment. Your provider will give you aftercare guidance at your appointment.
When will I see results?+
Some clients notice improved texture and glow within the first week as the skin heals. Deeper improvements in collagen and elastin build gradually over 4–8 weeks, with the most visible results appearing after a series of sessions.
